I always look forward to the monthly Zoom sessions with Damien - They are extremely informative, and Damien, as always, is remarkably generous with his knowledge - His responses to questions are detailed and clear, and he genuinely goes the extra mile to make sure everything is fully understood.

The Photographers’ Circle is a monthly live Zoom meeting for photographers who want to keep learning without pressure. It’s a calm, thoughtful space to ask questions, hear ideas discussed in depth, and explore how lighting and intention shape photographs over time.
Each session lasts one hour and is initially guided by your questions, submitted in advance. Following this Q&A session, I use pictures from my back catalogue to illustrate a chosen theme and share inspiration.
This is not a course, it’s an ongoing conversation for people who enjoy photography as a serious hobby and want a place to think, listen, and if you wish, take part. Members also receive access to session replays, so nothing is missed if you can’t attend live.
The Photographers’ Circle is an ongoing space for conversation and questions around all elements of portrait photography, including locations, model guidance and lighting.
If you enjoy photography as an ongoing practice rather than a checklist of techniques, the Photographers’ Circle offers a simple way to stay connected. Join when it feels useful, attend when you can, and take part in whatever way suits you; quietly listening is just as welcome as asking questions.
The Circle is designed to be welcoming at any stage. You don’t need technical confidence or experience to take part; listening and asking questions is just as valuable as contributing.
I consider myself a competent photographer, but I’m always hungry to learn more. Damien’s Zooms are amazing - packed with practical guidance that has made me more confident and my photography far more structured and informed.
Damien is never judgmental, just really supportive - and his content is incredibly inspiring.
No matter your level, if you want to improve your skills or take your photography to the next level, the monthly ‘TPC’ (The Photographers’ Circle) Zooms are definitely worth attending!
What I find most valuable in Damien’s teaching goes far beyond lighting. He addresses the fear and self-doubt we all face during shoots, and shows how to navigate those moments with confidence.
He teaches how to see beyond the obvious in a location, to let creativity take over and create images that inexperienced photographers simply don’t see yet.
The discussions around mood, posing, pricing, and the balance between paid and creative work are incredibly helpful. Money isn’t the motivation, but without clear guidance, a photography business won’t survive.
These lessons take time to absorb and make your own, and that’s exactly why being part of this ongoing community matters.
The currency charged will be automatically set at checkout based on your geolocation, where you can also choose a monthly or annual subscription.
My approach to teaching is hands-on, generous, and encouraging. You’ll learn, you’ll laugh, and you’ll develop skills that transform your work. Whether you’re refining your technique or redefining your style, I’m here to help you do it brilliantly. I lead each Zoom session with one goal in mind, to encourage, inspire, educate and entertain.
Over the years, I’ve coached photographers like you from around the world, and I love nothing more than helping others grow in confidence and skill. In 2013, I was honoured to receive the ‘Master Craftsman’ qualification from the Guild of Photographers in the UK – a recognition of both technical excellence and creative vision.
