This lesson was shot at home - deliberately. I wanted to show that compelling portrait lighting doesn't require a professional studio, an exotic location, or expensive equipment. The techniques in this course work wherever you are.

Sigrife (the model in the video) and I edited this video together. She loved the comedy moment and wanted me to keep it in the edit. This was shot in my kitchen because I wanted to work in the most accessible locations. The course includes videos shot in city streets, houses, a photography studio, fields and abandoned buildings - all real, accessible locations.

For over 40 years I've been creating portraits for editorial, commercial, and personal work - in challenging locations, with tight timeframes and unpredictable light. I've had to figure out lighting solutions quickly, in conditions that don't cooperate, with equipment that isn't always ideal.
