The original film was shot using a Lupo 1200 HMI Fresnel, a powerful but expensive piece of kit that's now been superseded by a far better option. Today I shoot with the Amaran 200x S, and it outperforms the Lupo in almost every way. It's a third of the price, smaller, lighter, and can run off a battery for location work. When combined with the unique Aputure black dish barn door set the same crisp lighting can be achieved. The lighting principles in this film are easier to achieve with this light than with the one I originally used. If you're looking for an excuse to add something genuinely useful to your kit bag, this is it.
